Bonfire Sonata (6') is a short sonata for tuba and piano, commissioned by Dr. Samuel Revis, whom I was colleagues with at Arizona State University during his doctoral degree.

The title's namesake comes from the video game series, Dark Souls, where the bonfire acts as a place of respite in an otherwise unforgiving environment. The opening section of the sonata makes usage of the Dorian mode, evoking the medieval time period in which the game takes place.
