Psalm 27 (6') is the text of the same name set to music, written for baritone singer and piano.

In Psalm 27, David calls out to the Lord, calling him his light and salvation, acting as a stronghold to protect him from his enemies. While he knows that he is safe, and gives reasons why he is fully confident in God, he is not immune from physical anxiety of his enemies that wage war against him. He seeks the Lord, praying to him, and also reassuring himself in this fact through the psalm.

Through my choices of harmony and text painting, I aimed to portray the complex yet reassured emotions of David through this musical setting of Psalm 27.
